Coppernickel Goes Mondrian

A red-hoodie–wearing, upright-standing bird (or possibly weasel) named Coppernickel and his diminutive pet dog follow artist Piet Mondrian through a progression of changes in their setting, time period and bodies. The two decide one can find the future, rather than just waiting for it to arrive. Mondrian's art dominates the scenery as the story goes along, and even takes over the characters by the end of the book.
