First, We Sing! Songbook 2

First, We Sing! Songbook 2 is a collection of 18 children's songs, rhymes, and games from around the world, which have been selected, transcribed, and annotated by Dr. Susan Brumfield. This book provides fresh ideas for any music classroom.

This is the second volume in a series designed to combine singable, delightful songs and practical pedagogy into one resource perfect for home or school use. Songbook 2 includes extension activities for the classroom, historical references, pedagogical indices and suggestions for including the songs in a literacy-based music curriculum. Melody and lyrics are given for each song.

The inlucded online access features Inner Voices, a group of 8-12 year old singers from the West Texas Children's Chorus and contains PDF songsheets which can be either projected or printed.

First, We Sing! Songbook 2 also contains suggestions for Orff instruments and recorder, as well as seasonal and holiday songs, singing games, and songs just for fun. Ideally suited for teaching musical skills, this collection provides a "vocabulary" of music and play from which children can draw today.
