"It's Elemental 2: More Lessons that Engage" By Don Dupont and Brian Hiller is another excellent Orff resource for teachers of grades K – 5. This book is similar to volume 1 (item 803992, available separately), with the additional focus area of timbre.
Containing 18 ready-made lessons that demonstrate Orff Schulwerk elements, the exercises focus on rhythm, melody, tone color, texture, form, and timbre. The music included uses original, folk, and traditional melodies and the orchestrations are simple, using mainly a variety of Orff instruments. A grade level is given for each song, along with lesson goals, poetry, movement, games, and classroom management tips.
