Jazz Duets
Description
Berklee Press’ Jazz Duetsis a collection of 27 duets designed to teach jazz phrasing and articulation. The duet parts are equal and independent so that each player can focus on tone, blend, and color. Different jazz styles are utilized in the tunes, making this a superb resource for improving the musical ear, timing, phrasing, and musical expression in the jazz idiom. Musical concepts introduced in this book include jazz staccato and legato articulation, scales and modes, harmonic structure, varying meters, phrasing within and between measures, and swing feel.
Any two instruments can play together, though transposition may be required. All duets are in treble clef.
