Keeping It Simple

Chris Judah-Lauder’s "Keeping It Simple"is a collection of nine original duets for soprano and alto recorder, with unpitched percussion, for grade 4 and up.

The pieces are short, with a limited range in each voicing so that the music is suitable for beginning recorder players - some of the songs have just four pitches in each part. The book includes teaching strategies as well as fingering charts for soprano and alto recorder (English/Baroque fingering), as well as teacher and student scores for each piece. Permission to copy the "Student Score" is granted to the students in the class.

Soprano Range: D, E, G, A, B, high C, high D.

 Alto Range: G, A, high C, high D, high E, high F, high G.

Percussion Instruments Used: shaker, guiro, wood block, cowbell, conga, maracas, tambourine, gong, hand drum, bongos.
