Lorraine

Written by Ketch Secor (founder of Old Crow Medicine Show) and illustrated by Higgins Bond, this is the heartwarming story of Lorraine and her Pa Paw.  They pass the time playing the music of the Tennessee hills on their pennywhistle and harmonica.  Suddenly their shiny objects, including their instruments, begin to disappear, and a dangerous storm threatens harm.  They get through the storm by singing together, and discover their objects were stolen by a crow!   Everything turns out fine in the end, thanks to the power of music and family.  Written in rhythmic, rhyming verse, this book would make a wonderful addition to any classroom exploring the musical traditions of country and the blues.
