Piano Town, Performance, Level 4

Piano Town is an elementary piano method series that uses a multi-key approach to learning by focusing on interval reading skills. Musical terms, concepts, rhythms, and key signatures are gradually and progressively introduced, helping students focus on new skills and information. Piano Town consists of five levels (primer, levels 1-4), and within each level there are four core books: Lessons, Theory, Technic, and Performance. Christmas and Halloween books supplement each level. Piano Town Level 4 introduces V7 chords and inversions, and this level continues with multi-key reading by learning scales, chords and music in E-flat, A-flat, D-flat, G-flat and B Major. Musical concepts introduced are: 2/2 and 3/8 time signatures, augmented and diminished triads, sixteenth notes, dotted eight notes and syncopation. The music in this level emphasizes classical literature with works by Telemann, Bach, Le Couppey, Haydn, Beethoven, Gurlitt, Streabbog, Carr, Schmitt and others.
