The Vic Firth SJM sticks were designed by Jojo Mayer, one of my favorite drummers and one of the most popular and respected drummers in the world today. Thorough discussion and experimentation led to the development of sticks which reflect the individual playing styles of these world-class artists. All sticks are in hickory except when noted.Swiss drummer Jojo Mayer pioneered and leads the recent trend of live breakbeat drumming with his band NERVE. He is a frequent international clinician and maintains a busy recording schedule. Jojo's design is a 5A style stick, but with thicker and shorter dimensions. It provides a big feel and full sound without a lot of length.
