Piano Town, Theory, Level 2

Piano Town is an elementary piano method series that uses a multi-key approach to learning by focusing on interval reading skills. Musical terms, concepts, rhythms, and key signatures are gradually and progressively introduced, helping students focus on new skills and information.

Piano Town consists of five levels (primer, levels 1-4), and within each level there are four core books: Lessons, Theory, Technic, and Performance. Christmas and Halloween books supplement each level.

Piano Town Level 2 begins to move students out of 5-finger position and introduces them to playing intervals of 6th and 7th. Musical concepts introduced: half and whole steps, 6/8 time signature, changing Major into minor, and Sonatina form. Students play scales, primary chords, chord progressions, and music in the keys of C, G, F, D, A and E Major.
